Pals
Pals is one of the most interesting places of the region, for the closeness that offers to the visitor between the cultural wealth of the village and the variation of its landscape.
This medieval village, is the best place to spend a good holidays, and gives you the opportunity to visit its 3 important points: the centre of Pals; “Els Masos” and the beach.
If we start the visit in the old part of the city, we find the gothic enclosure, one of the most amazed and recognized places of Baix Empordà.
It's a walled enclosure, of medieval style, inside which we can observe the beauty of its buildings and interesting points, as the Church of Sant Pere de Pals (of the 15th
Century), or the castle ruins, of the 9th Century. We can walk along the Wall of the village, observing the unique towers that keep of that age (Torre d'en Ramonet, Torre d'en Rom, Torre d'en Xinel.lo, Torre de l'Hospital), and we can finish in the Plaza Mayor.
To enjoy one of its wonderful sceneries, we ‘ll go to the viewpoint Josep Pla, from where we'll have a surprising general view to Baix Empordà, the great islands (Islas Medes), and the Pyrenees.
Before going to the beach, we'll stop in “Masos de Pals”, currently a very inhabited town, in which we emphasize the Church of the 18th Century.
At last, we'll end the route with a visit to the beach which is very wide and, therefore, suitable for the practice of all kind of nautical sports. However, this is one of the multiple options that the visitor has as they may prefer to have a pleasant and nice time, just resting and enjoying what many people come to look for in a holiday's day: the sun and the see.
