Costa Brava's villages


The Costa Brava extends along the Northern Catalan Coast (North East of Spain). It invites all visitors to spend their holidays full of possibilities. The Northern point is Port Bou, which has got a picturesque seaport, then it follows the Cape of Creus and Cadaqués, which is considered one of the most admired villages of the Costa Brava. Cadaqués was and still is a refuge of inspiration for many European artists like Picasso, Klein, Chagall and Salvador Dalí, who lived on the other side of the bay in Portlligat.

The coast continues with the marvellous Bay of Roses, which has got many sandy beaches, and Empúries with many Greek and Roman archeological remains. The Bay ends in L'Escala and L'Estartit, where there are the Medes Islands, a small archipelago of extraordinary biological and ecological value. Begur, situated in the middle of the Costa Brava, has got a coast of unequalled beauty; its cliffs, pine trees and clear waters are the maximum expression of the Costa Brava. Inhabited since prehistoric times, Begur has got many monunental remains like the Castle of Begur, the defence towers and the church of Sant Esteve d'Esclanyà. Palamós is situated in one end of Palamós Bay. Palamós has got the third most important seaport in Catalunya; it has also got a huge commercial, cultural, amusing, sports and gastronomic offer. In the North Coast of Palamós, starting in Cala Fosca, there are several virgin beaches which are protected. In the South Coast of Palamós there are Platja d'Aro, Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the turistic towns of Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar and Blanes.

The Costa Brava is a coast of incomparable beauty. There coexist coast and sea with mountains and valleys, aquatic sky with mountain ski. There is a great variety of possibilities to plan very different sort of holidays, all with a common characterictic: a marvellous submarine landscape and a paradisiac natural countryside of abrupt shape full of creeks and beaches with Mediterranean Pine trees. An ideal place for resting and spending your leisure time.
